Memoir Writing: Expressing Your Life
Of all the types of writing, Memoir is usually the most personal. At its best, a work of memoir can couple the immediacy of fiction with the reality of nonfiction. The corollary, however, is that a good memoir must feel immediate and factual - many authors make the mistake of assuming that "this really happened!" will be enough hold a reader's attention. Others go to the opposite extreme of manufacturing a compelling story and then trying to pawn it off as real.
