Freewriting 102:

Freewriting Your Way Into Trouble

Wednesday, 19 March through Tuesday, 25 March 2008 (One Week)

This Course is currently filled. It will be offered again in April 2008.

Need more conflict in your story? Not sure where to go next? Afraid that your characters have nothing worth fighting for? Escape the ordinary with Freewriting Your Way Into Trouble! Through this course, you will take on challenging and entertaining writing prompts to address dangerous themes: religion, politics, and Tinkerbell. Register Now!

Here's an example prompt from the most recent freewriting course:

Batman, Winnie the Pooh, and the Little Mermaid get together at a meeting convened by Tinkerbell. They're trying to pick between Obama and McCain.

Then Hillary shows up.

About the Course:

This course will involve three writing assignments of an outlandish nature - we'll get the creative juices flowing with unusual combinations of presidential campaigns, sweet potatoes, and the Tooth Fairy. For each writing prompt, you will free-write for 15 minutes on whatever comes to mind (click to Learn More About Freewriting) and then post your work to the Forums. Then, the following day will be reserved for comments on each other's work. In between, there will be a few online discussions on how best to find your muse and keep the inspiration going.

Course Schedule:

Tuesday, 18 March - Courseware opens for an early look around - last day to register.

Wednesday, 19 March - First Day of Class. Prompt #1 - 15 Minutes

Thursday, 20 March - Comments on Prompt #1
